OVERVIEW & LIMITATION OF LIABILITY 

 

This website is operated by The Travel Authors. Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to The Travel Authors. We offer this website solely to assist & consult customers plan and book their vacations, honeymoons, and other types of holiday plans. All information, tools and services available from this site to you, the user, conditioned upon your acceptance of all terms, conditions, policies and notices stated here.

 

By visiting our site, contacting us via email or phone and requesting and paying for a trip planning service and/ or bookings, you engage in our “Service” and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions (“Terms of Service”, “Terms”), including those additional terms and conditions and policies referenced herein and/or available by hyperlink. These Terms of Service apply to all users of the site, including without limitation users who are browsers, vendors, customers, merchants, and/ or contributors of content.

 

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before accessing or using our website. By accessing or using any part of the site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions of this agreement, then you may not access the website or use any services. If these Terms of Service are considered an offer, acceptance is expressly limited to these Terms of Service.

 

Any new information, features or tools which are added to TheTravelAuthors.com shall also be subject to the Terms of Service. You can review the most current version of the Terms of Service at any time on this page. We reserve the right to update, change or replace any part of these Terms of Service by posting updates and/or changes to our website without notice. It is your responsibility to check this page periodically for changes. Your continued use of or access to the website following the posting of any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.

 

The Travel Authors is a company registered in Los Angeles County, California and  any dispute arising for any of our services will be subject to the jurisdiction of California law at all times.

 

By using our website, making a reservation through us, our website, contracted vendors or affiliates, customer acknowledges that in any events The Travel Authors shall not be liable for any type of damages and that you, as a client shall hold the Travel Authors, its affiliates harmless at all cost. 

 

PRICING & QUOATIONS

Most of our rates are usually quoted in U.S. Dollars. However, for international trip planning and bookings that would require our vendors, independent contractors on site to plan and book, those portion may be quoted in local currency. Prices are subject to change at any time, without notice unless it is booked and paid for. The Travel Authors reserves the right to make adjustments if a particular rate was incorrectly quoted. We are not responsible for exchange rates fluctuations between the time it was quoted and booking confirmation was received. Our quotes generally do not include Airline baggage or seat assignment fees or other miscellaneous fees nor does it include any day to day personal expense. Any additional charges incurred while staying at a hotel/motel/lodges are the responsibility of the customer and are payable directly to the hotel/motel/lodges. 

 

BOOKINGS & PAYMENTS

A planning fee & deposit is required and will be advised at the time you request the planning and booking consecutively. Planning fee must be received before any plans or research are made to protect our time and efforts. Planning fee is 100% NON- REFUNDABLE. Booking deposits must be received within 24 hours  of booking to secure a reservation. Reservations are not secured without any deposits. Some hotels will just use your credit card as guarantee. Booking deposit will either be made to The Travel Authors directly, or its affiliates/ vendors who made your bookings. All balances are usually due 30-60 days prior to departure, depending on our affiliate/vendors terms for that particular bookings and tours booked. Any other special payment policies may apply and will be advised at time of reservation. If payments are not promptly made by the due date or if there are problems with your payments, i.e, being declined or unauthorized, your reservations will be cancelled immediately.  The Travel Authors, will not responsible for any fare increases or fees incurred or penalties due to late payment. 

METHOD OF PAYMENT

Payments can be made by either a wire transfer or major debit and credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard or American Express. We will advise your payment instructions upon making the reservations. If using credit cards to book some of the tours and activities, our vendors or contractor may ask a 3-5% processing fee. Your card companies may also charge you foreign transaction fees. The Travel Authors, its affiliates or vendors will not be responsible for the fees your credit card company charges when paying in foreign currencies. We suggest you check with your bank to see if they charge any foreign transaction fees.

 

TRAVEL DOCUMENTATIONS AND IDENTIFICATIONS

You must carry a valid passport on all international trips. A Visa may be required to some destination depending on your citizenship. We do not offer Visa services, and are not responsible for providing you with such  information or documents. You must contact your appropriate consular office for any entry requirements for your travel.  All passports must have a validity of at least 6 months from your anticipated return date and must have at least 3 blank pages. You are responsible for all documents and appropriate entry requirements if traveling with a minor.  Some countries have a very strict entry requirements and additional documents maybe be needed for minors. Some countries may also require a vaccination certificate such as yellow fever for example. 

You are responsible to provide The Travel Authors of all travelers  in your party including yourself with exact names that matches the passport to complete your  travel reservations. You will be responsible for all fees that may be incurred to correct the name, if you provide us with an incorrect name. We will not be responsible for being denied of travel due to incorrect names provided to us. No refunds will be provided due to being denied travel for name mismatch or not having proper documentations or entry requirements. It is your responsibility to check current entry requirements and obtain necessary travel documents based on your citizenship at the consular office of your destination, in your jurisdiction.  

TRAVEL CONFIRMATIONS 

Travel confirmation documents are issued on fully paid reservations approximately 7-30 days prior to departure, depending on how far in advance bookings were made and confirmed.

CUSTOMER CHANGES PRIOR TO DEPARTURE

The Travel Authors will charge a fee of $100 USD per person for customer-initiated change to the reservation after receipt of payment and bookings finalized. Additional hotel, airline and/or supplier fees may also be charged on top for any price differences and penalties that applies. Name changes on reservations are considered a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply.

 

CHANGES MADE BY THE TRAVEL AUTHORS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE

Due to unforeseen circumstances, It is sometimes necessary for us to make changes on your fully planned and finalized trip. These changes are usually very minor and will be are notified in advance. Such changes can include flight or train timings of 12 hours or less, change of airline or type of aircraft, and a change to accommodation of a similar standard.

Occasionally, It may be necessary to make a bigger change to your vacation such as a change of destinations or offering alternative accommodation of a lower standards. In such cases, we will do our best to offer you a suitable alternative, with a price refund if appropriate or allow you to change to an alternative vacation. Some tours may require a minimum number of participants and if that number is not reached, the tour may have to be cancelled or amended. If you are not happy with the alternatives offered, we will offer a refund.

 

CHANGES WHILE ON A TRIP

The Travel Authors, will charge a fee of $100 USD per to change any part of unused booking while traveling. Additionally, any changes made that resulted in additional payment owed due to price differences, fuel surcharges, ticket re-issuance fees, etc. are due and payable directly to The Travel Authors or its affiliates/ vendors.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUND POLICY

The Travel Authors, its affiliates and vendors will charge a fee for cancellations. This fee ranges from 10%-100% depending on the date when we receive notification of your request to cancel your reservations. Your down payment deposit is non-refundable. Penalty fee is reviewed upon case by case basis as each bookings have different cancelation policies. 

 

A no-show is considered an abandonment of trip and the entire cost of reservation is non-refundable in such event. No refunds on unused portion of your trip will be provided once travel has started. No Exceptions.  

Your travel arrangements are sometimes made directly by either The travel Authors, our contracted representatives, independent contractors, other tour operators, wholesalers that we work closely with.  In the event your bookings are made by one of our contracted vendors, The Travel Authors, represents and solely acts as agent for disclosed principals and independent contractors, including carriers, transportation companies, tour operators, wholesalers, service companies, hotels, etc, The Travel Authors is not responsible or liable for any acts, omissions, financial stability, delays or changes by any of these entities. 

The Travel Authors including any of its representatives/ affiliates shall not  become liable for any property damage, injuries, losses, or otherwise in connection with any accommodations, transportations and/or any services resulting directly or indirectly from any unforeseen events or occurrences, including but not limited to Natural disasters, strikes, fire, riots, breakdowns, political and government acts, war,  acts of God, fire, quarantines, epidemics, mechanical or electrical breakdown in machinery, de jure or de facto, hostilities, civil disturbances, thefts, regulations, defaults, delays or cancellations of or changes in itinerary, routing or schedules from any cause beyond the control of The Travel authors.

Your travel insurance may be able to help cover your losses and offer a full refund.

 

TRAVEL INSURANCE

Purchasing a travel insurance is highly recommended. It is your responsibility to ensure that you carry the correct comprehensive travel and medical insurance to cover yourself, and your traveling companions for the entire duration of your travel. We do not provide any travel insurance as of yet. It is recommended that you buy your travel insurance from well-established insurance agencies. Be sure that the travel insurance select includes coverage of trip cancellation or curtailment of the Tour, emergency evacuation expenses, medical expenses, repatriation expenses, damage or loss of personal baggage, money and goods. We will take no responsibility for any costs for losses incurred or suffered by you or your dependents or traveling companions, with regards to, but not limited to, any of the above mentioned eventualities. You will be charged directly by the relevant service providers for any emergency services you may require, and may find yourself in a position unable to access such services should you not be carrying the relevant insurance coverage. 

 

By booking any outdoor activities, sports & adventures with us, you understand that there will be a certain degree of risk involved. These risk can range from injury, illness accidents, or even death. You must be fit to undertake any activities you choose and exercise reasonable care. The Travel Authors will not be held liable for any injury, accidents, illness or deaths upon using our services to travel. Depending on the travel insurance policy you opted for, the insurance company should be able to help with such things. 

 

SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING

At times, we request that send us pictures & videos of your trip for our portfolio and marketing purposes. We will also repost your photos/videos and/or trip reports on our social media platforms for marketing purposes. You hereby consent to our use of pictures or video of you in our marketing materials without compensation. 

 

PHYSICAL DISABILITIES

Clients with disabilities shall notify us of their requirements in advance, during the time of reservation. We will gladly try to accommodate such needs, but they are not guaranteed.  Wheelchairs and accessible accommodations availability varies by destination and are not within our control. Some foreign countries may not confirm to the US Americans Disability Acts and facilities and services of such may be extremely limited at times. The Travel Authors assumes no liability for the failure for the provision of accommodations by a travel vendor.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a vacation planning service and consultant, The Travel Authors is only responsible for booking and reserving the items you have approved in our itinerary draft. We often use an independent contractor as our supplier to book your accommodations, transportation, sightseeing tours and excursion, some of them being an onsite vendor. These suppliers are not agents, employees or representatives of the Travel Authors. The Travel Authors has no ownership interest with anyone. All reservations made through such contracted suppliers are subject to the terms and conditions of the specific supplier. By booking through us, our suppliers/vendors, you, your travel companions and dependents acknowledge and agree that The Travel Authors are not liable and shall be hold harmless for any damages to self or property, any losses, accidents to any persons in the reservation resulting from supplier negligence, acts of God, malfunctions, weather, thefts, bankruptcy, cancellations, wars, strike, government related acts or any other unforeseen circumstances that is outside of our control. 

 

Any airline tickets booked and/or issued by The Travel Authors constitutes an agreement only between you (traveler) and the airline. 

 

In the event that the services or accommodations offered becomes unavailable due to reasons beyond The Travel Authors control, equivalent quality of services or accommodation will be offered. If you are unhappy for any reason and would like to put forth a complain related to your vacation please write to The Travel Authors at your earliest convenience by email, no later than 14 days after the occurrence for complain or end of your holidays.

By using this website, you are agreeing to our Terms of Service & Privacy Policy. We protect the personal information entrusted to us. We use it only for the agreed upon purpose.
